Your data stays on your Mac

Clients, projects, time entries, invoices and your business details are stored in HourSlip's sandboxed container on your Mac. HourSlip never sends this data anywhere.

No accounts, analytics or tracking

There is no sign-up, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising identifier.

Purchases

HourSlip Pro is sold through polar.sh, which processes the payment; we never see your payment details. When you activate Pro, HourSlip sends your license key and your Mac's name to polar.sh, and checks the key again every few days. Apart from update checks (below), nothing else goes over the network.

Updates

Once a day HourSlip downloads a small update list from hourslip.app to see whether there's a new version. The request carries nothing about you or your data. Settings → General can turn automatic installs off, and Check for Updates… checks right away.

Exports

PDF invoices, CSV exports and backups are written only where you choose to save them. HourSlip also keeps its own daily backups for the last 14 days inside its container on your Mac.
