Installing

Open HourSlip.dmg and drag HourSlip to Applications. HourSlip needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. After launch, look for the clock icon in your menu bar.

The timer kept running

After 10 hours HourSlip offers to stop the timer 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours after it started. You can also edit any entry in the Timesheet — double-click it to change its start and end.

I can't edit an entry

Entries on an invoice are locked so the invoice stays correct. Delete the invoice to release its entries, edit them, then create the invoice again.

My invoice header is empty

Open Settings (⌘,) → Business and fill in your business name, address and payment instructions. They're saved into each new invoice.

Backups and moving to a new Mac

Settings → General → Export Backup writes a JSON copy of everything. Keep it somewhere safe.

HourSlip Pro

Pro is $29 once, bought through polar.sh. Your license key arrives by email. In HourSlip, open Settings → General → Enter License Key… (or any Upgrade button), paste it and press Activate.

One key works on one Mac at a time. To move it, choose Disconnect from This Mac in Settings → General, or free the Mac from your polar.sh customer portal. Lost the email? The portal has your key too.
